10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is in 11th grade, he has been taking advantage of the opportunities to take AP classes and advanced classes and is enjoying a lot. The teachers of this classes, with few exceptions, are engaging and dedicated. He is also very involved in sports. His coaches are wonderful. The balance between academics and sports provide a key to success as the kids have natural ways to release endorphins and de-stress. I would really recommend this school.Parent Review2y ago22 Reviews - Muirlands Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have one child at Muirlands Middle School right now and another in 5th grade who will be heading there next year, and overall we’ve had a really good experience. My older child feels comfortable there and has had supportive teachers. One thing I really appreciated was Mr. Simon visiting our elementary school to talk to the incoming 6th graders. It felt personal, and it honestly helped calm a lot of nerves. My 5th grader came home saying, “He seems really nice,” which made me feel better too. We’re also excited about the new electives coming like Digital Media Arts, Theater, and Advanced Art. It’s nice to see options that fit different interests.Muirlands has been a good fit for our family, and my younger child is actually looking forward to starting next year.Parent Review5mo ago28 Reviews - Torrey Pines Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFantastic, top notch school. I am an educator that has worked at 12-15 different schools and districts. From my background I can say TPES is one of the best schools in san diego and la jolla. Staff are well above average, as are the support staff, and after school care (character builders). Family engagement is huge, the TPES staff, teachers and TPES Foundation constantly are having fantastic events, meetings with parents, and ongoing communication. On that note, the two negative reviews are from families that report highly inaccurate information. One family actively withdrew themselves from family engagement and then blames the school. Family engagement is so high, all you have to do is read your email for a plethra of options and great events and activities. Other review is defunct and political based, regarding covid pandemic and a principal long gone. Family was unhappy about school closures, something any school had no control over. Ignore those silly people and their reviews, there are always crazy folks mixed in with 99% of good people.TPES is the best schoolParent Review8mo ago19 Reviews - Check out schools near 7722 E Dr E.

"The walkability, beach, and exclusivity. I’ve lived here for 16 years and I’ve raised my two kids in La Jolla. The farmers market, elementary, middle and high school are within walking distance. Shops, cafes, restaurants, movie theatre, grocery store are all in walking distance. Easy access to the freeway if needed, but you don’t really need a car because the public transportation is easily accessible. "

"Getting in and out of La Jolla takes longer than I would prefer, so commutes are a few minutes longer than I would prefer. But the location, views, and proximity to the beach far outweighs any small annoyances."

"The sunset everyday is a neighborhood ritual, you often see neighbors and dog owners out each evening to enjoy the view. Also the La Jolla Art & Wine festival and other annual local events really help build the community feeling. "

"I don’t commute, but pretty much every where from la jolla is 15-25 minutes away. Rush hour getting out of the village is a bore but if you live here you are usually going opposite of traffic. "
