Description

Entering through the gated driveway, this awesome off grid cabin is located down a long driveway for maximum privacy and offers ~1000sf of charming living space, powered by solar electric on over 40 acres of mixed woods that borders Bobell State Forest, providing an additional 2156 more acres for hunting, hiking, horseback riding and snowmobiling. The charming main cabin features a wrap-around porch that provides a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors with your morning coffee or after a long day of fun. Power is provided by solar panels and a generator, while heat is provided by a wood/coal combination stove, enabling the property to be comfortably used in all four season. The main house also features open beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, as well as an indoor composting toilet. The property is heavily wooded with several open areas, numerous smaller outbuildings including a goat house, potting check and chicken coop. Trails that provide access around the property, and beautiful stone walls adding to the rustic character of this location. There is a mix of hardwoods including oak, maple, ash and cherry, with timber ready to harvest now as well as future timber income potential for the new owner. There is a second log home with over 1400 sf, which requires some repairs and is being sold as is. There is a drilled well but is not connected to the house. Amazing additional outdoor activities await only 20 minutes from this property, including 4157 acres of public land at the Whitney Point Multiple Use Area (NYS Land) with its outstanding hunting, hiking, camping, as well as Dorchester Park, located on the 1200 acre lake of the Whitney Point Reservoir, and offers a public beach, picnic area and NYS boat launch for access to outstanding fishing for pike, bass and panfish. Amenities are available within 5 miles to Greene, and a half hour to Binghamton. NYC/George Washington Bridge is just over 3 hours. This awesome property, featuring two cabins, and bordering NY State Forest could be your next outstanding hunting camp or vacation getaway.

  • Mawestover
"The community is raising money to open a dog park in the near future. Meanwhile dogs can be walked on the sidewalks as long as you clean up after them. "
  • sjbrooks
"The village of Greene is a picturesque, historic community with the look and charm of a small New England town. It is sited on the Chenango River and features a beautiful historic hotel and many downtown shops and restaurants, churches and a lovely library along with award-winning schools. It is close to all that the Greater Binghamton area has to offer including prestigious Binghamton University. This is a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family and to retire. "
  • dirty f.
"The area is nice, but the farm itself is terrible. The owner is a dirty farmer, beats his cows, shocks them and only cares about the insurance that he receives if they pass away. Both the house and the barn is in bad shape and needs updating. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The man is all about the milk money no care about his employees or his livestock. Those poor animals deserve better. Also when you go upstairs they have electric running on the floor. Open wires that are not covered."
