When fights happen it takes a while to answer and when you call the counselor they never answer or respond the sports coches never put you student in i don't recommend this school

We came from a private school as Covid lockdown was ending because my child had a medical condition that left her vulnerable to the disease. Her private school wasn’t following safety guidelines, nor were they going to adapt for her safety. It was pure luck that WHES was our neighborhood school, and wound up being everything we needed and more. The majority of families are local, and it’s resulted in a strong community with an active parent presence in their Booster Club. The administration, faculty, and staff care deeply about their students. They focus on the whole child. My child is happy, healthy, learning, and safe thanks to WHES. There was a time we left for a year to attend a magnet because we needed IEP support that was lagging, however, we returned immediately when the school replaced their ineffective AP because we missed our WHES community.WHES’s principal is approachable, experienced, and invested in the success of her school community. We’ve been there from K-4, and every teacher we’ve had has been exceptional. These teachers are invested. They’re delivering a quality education (academically, socially, emotionally), and they partake in professional development to ensure they continue to deliver the best for their students. Visit any classroom on that campus and you’ll walk out confident that you’re making the correct decision to attend WHES.

I’ve been looking into this school and have met with almost all of the administration and teachers here, even spoke and watched students while looking into middle schools for my kid. I’m a neighborhood mom and I’m really impressed with everything I’m seeing. Kids seems happy and respectful everytime I pop by. The administration is always working on making sure the kids are excelling and great opportunity to succeed. I’m very excited about the progression on this school and excited on the momentum of other parents in the neighborhood doing their own research as making this a pathway for their kids for middle school.

I enrolled my child at this school after a family friends child attended and graduated from Katherine Stem. I later returned for a school tour that was hosted by the former principal, and things seemed very promising. Unfortunately, by the time my child started school we were informed that there is a new principal. This was a drastically bad decision. The new principal should not be a principal. So many families have un-enrolled their child since the beginning of the semester for a multitude of negative reasons. The students have to deal with unkept restrooms resulting in them holding their urine and bowels due to unsanitary conditions, some classes have had subs the majority of the semester with permanent teachers leaving or being let go for unacceptable behavior, not enough adult supervision on the campus, and a lot of bullying that is not taken seriously with thorough measures to resolve!
