As an asian parent of 2 Gunn graduates, I have mixed feelings about this Highschool. I think all the kids due to family background try very hard to achieve success academically. In that sense, I think the scores you see are more of reflection on the parent/peer pressure rather than anything magical teaching done by the school. During my interactions with the teachers, like other schools, there are some good teachers, but some bad ones as well. I would only recommend this school if your kids have an easy time learning and want to be challenged academically. For typical kids, they will feel like they are going as hard as they can just to be 'average' - which is not a great feeling for 4 years of hard work.

Excellent! Diverse group of kids. Strong leadership and I really appreciate the focus on social-emotional development (integrity, respect, kindness) in addition to academics.

Bright, engaged, supportive teachers and administrators who truly try to set children up for success. Safe campus. Smaller class sizes are a plus. After school sports have been well-organized in our experience.
