7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school does the bare minimum to protect students who are victims of bullying and racism. They would prefer it if the victim left the school as opposed to the actual problem so they don't have to deal with it. Even when presented with video footage of specific incidences, the problems continued. The entire district as a whole makes me sick to my stomach. As a parent, it is beyond frustrating to have your hands tied while the school all but condones the acts they claim to have a zero tolerance for while your own child suffers. The school is suppose to protect our children, and Flushing has failed on COUNTLESS occasions. Shame on you, Flushing District. These kids need you, and these bullies and racists need more strict punishments/expulsion!Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - Flushing Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is outstanding! They have so much to offer here. My first year here was amazing. Teachers help you out when you need it, and will keep on helping you. All students are very nice and helpful here. I HIGHLY suggest to take your child here.Other Review9y ago5 Reviews - Seymour Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you grow up here then you will have no problem, but if you move to Flushing then they tend to look at you diferently. I grew up here and thought it would be a good place for my kids to grow up, but I am now moving. If your child is above average in anything, take them somewhere else. There are no advanced classes here. My son is very advanced and gets bored easily at this school. He is not being challenged at all. It isn't his teachers fault, she is very nice, but she is limited with what she can do. Class sizes are to big. Also, punishments here are very harsh. If you sneeze and interupt the class you will be sent to the office. They expect every child to act perfectly ALL day every day. My son was once sent home because they thought he did something wrong, not because he did do something wrong. They couldn't even tell me why he was being sent home. I gave them 3 stars because most of the teachers here are very nice, but the disciplinary actions are rediculous! They expect perferction from 6, 7, and 8 or 9 year olds.Parent Review14y ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near 7570 River Rd.

"I've lived in the Flushing area for over 15 years. In that time people have become more self-centered, horrible at driving, and less inclusive. The schools at all grades have bullying problems they sweep under the rug. Speeding through town and out main street is rampant and dangerous. Crime is slightly above average. If you have money to blow this is a welcoming area, but if you are average or poor you are treated horribly."

"folks walk their dogs all the time. No problems as long as they are on a leash, well mannered and under supervision. owners must pick up after the animal or suffer the wrath of the neighbors"

"it is a comfortable place to walk dogs, neigbors are dog friendly and those with dogs picks up after, Mt Morris has several parts some more rural and others suburban and some urban not sure how this answer fits for the Urban side. "

"Flushing is a very friendly community as if the town was so small everyone knew each other and treated each-other like family. We watch out for each other and keep our eyes on our surroundings to make sure there is no foulness. Very quiet and so many events happen down town right on main street as well as the shops/ restaurants and bars! Love Flushing!"

"Love this cute historic town! Great community for families and retirees, We feel safe from crime and a sense of community togetherness. For a town of this size (aprox. 12,000 people) there is a lot of community involvement and festivities that the city holds. Everything that you would need is downtown and is all walking distance of each other. Some draw backs are Pedestrian safety, cars are not aware of walker/ bikers and do not watch or stop for them. Shopping and dining is minimal, but what is available is good, and again it's comes with the size of the town. "
