Description

Located at the end of a private treelined road, Hammetts Cove Estate is a prominent waterfront enclave offered to the market for the first time in half a decade. The 9+-bedroom Gambrel Colonial is sited on 4.0± acres with a stately front lawn, manicured landscaping, stonework, and 550± ft. of waterfrontage on Sippican Harbor. As one steps into the 12,000± sq.ft. home you are welcomed by a large hall that opens to the formal living room centered around one of the home's 8 fireplaces; a light filled sunroom with waterviews; and the dining room, big enough to host the many friends and family members the home was designed to entertain. A 3-bay garage has second floor storage to house boats, sails, paddle boards, and kayaks. Take one down to the shared dock with space to tie up or use a dinghy to head out to a larger sailboat moored in the harbor. Stop by the Beverly Yacht Club or cruise out to Buzzards Bay and beyond. After a day on the water, relax on the deck and watch the sunset or host a lobster bake and games on the back lawn. Settle in after the sunsets in one of many rooms for gathering or escape to a private room on the second level. This multi-generation estate is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own one of the grandest homes overlooking Hammetts Cove and Sippican Harbor.

"Marion is a great town for enthusiastic outdoor families who participate in youth sport activities including sailing and skating and baseball. In the summer the beach opens and offers a day camp at the beach. The town has great schools, museums and a town library. "

"Car needed, very limited public transportation. Seniors have access to a town run bus for doctor visits and shopping. Marion is between Boston and Providence airports, trips take about an hour to an hour twenty. Within thirty minutes by car there is a new rail line from New Bedford to Boston and a regional bus service. There numerous ferries available to the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket twenty to forty minutes away. "

"This is an adorable little town. This is a quiet neighborhood off of the main road. Very conveniently located to the highway entrance. Nice neighbors - good school systems. "
  • batech1
"I live on this street. At the end of cul-de-sac is a super walking trail through the woods with Washburn Park along the way. When it snows, because the houses are all on one side of street, the plows push the snow to opposite side so there is no big piles at the end of the driveways. The view from the private deck on the back of the house has a beautiful view of a marsh. Every kind of bird like Great Blue Herons, Hawks, Osprey, Hummingbirds and many others are here right outside the windows including two ducks that make it their annual stop for a few weeks in the spring and then again in the fall. The neighbors are the best part of this street. Very friendly and always watching out for one another. I have been here since 1990."
  • macombers2
"Great area for families, seniors, kids of all ages, who love swimming, boating, golf, fishing. Great schools and marshes for exploring!"
  • macombers2
"Great sharing and caring neighborhood. All ages living here. Lots to do. Environmentally conscientious. 180 acres of open conservation land. Not a class-conscious neighborhood."
  • Cassy W.
"Marion Village is a quaint seaside town located on the South Coast of Buzzards Bay. A quick 10 minute drive to Cape Cod, 40 miles to Providence and 50 miles to Boston, this small town offers sailing, tennis, golf and beaching for anyone who loves living near the water. Home to Tabor Academy, a Private Coed Secondary School, Marion also has an excellent elementary school and Junior and Senior High Schools. "
