7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has repeatedly left gates open with no adult staff around leaving the possibility for children to wander off or strangers to wander in. Teachers say bad words to the kids. The front desk is terrible at answering the phone and calling back when you leave a message. There is constant fights that the staff don't stop. There are kids constantly hitting other kids and they are allowed to stay in class. I would not go here if the district actually gave a choice. It's a terrible school with terrible staff. Do not go here.Parent Review2y ago14 Reviews - Willard Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall, I would definitely say that this school has changed for the better. I have had two children go through this school and I have seen the positive growth.I have been on fieldtrips, sat in classrooms, and volunteered many times at this school. I have seen the kids be completely disrespectful to staff, and at times, my child has been disrespectful. I think we need to not put ALL of the responsibility on the teachers. Parents should TRAIN their children, so that teachers are able to TEACH them the skills they need to successfully complete their grade and move on to the next.Parent Review6y ago7 Reviews - Wilson High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTaught here for a number of years. Moved my own kids to Orange County because I didn't want them attending here. The administration was just horrible. The whole district is more worried about their reputation, looking good and garnering awards from no name organizations. The administration will post rules and policies but are no where to be found enforcing them. Long Beach does not seem to get rid of bad principals either. Instead they just shuffle them around to other sites. A colleague of mine called this the "dance of the lemons."Teacher Review1y ago18 Reviews - Check out schools near 752 Redondo Ave.

"I like my neighborhood, 8th and redondo is perfect, it’s quiet rarely loud, a lot of dog parents and older folks, random stragglers but nothing scary or unordinary, I’m from LA and this part of Long Beach is kind of the suburbs with streets like 4th 2nd and Redondo that you can walk down and go do social things and go home right around the corner and it’s back to quiet. "There are good schools over here and most people are helpful. Street parking can be a bit much when you go out which is the only downside. The area stays relatively busy during the day but quiet at night."

"Most of the time, the dogs are on leashes and neighbors pick up after their pets. It’s a nice area and most people have different types of dogs. There are also a few dog parks nearby as well."

"Most neighbors keep to themselves but if you greet them they’ll greet you back. There’s always cars parked on the street with their emergency lights on too. "

"Not a fan, parking is awful and 4th Street is really loud. The people are nice enough and I don’t feel unsafe walking around, it’s just a huge hassle to go anywhere after 7:00pm on a weekday or anytime on the weekends. "

"I work in Torrance , so my commute is generally 30-40min each way (sometimes longer). Access to the 405 isn’t bad but with traffic can be a bit annoying. Evening rush hour causes a lot of delays."

"This neighborhood is very nice and quiet. I used to live by Polytechnic and we had a ton of loud neighbors. Blasting music until 4am. Neighbors are very nice. Lots of parks to walk around and enjoy. "
