6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible Experience for my Child. Very Toxic school. Principle will give multiple days of punishment in his office for little things like being a distraction in class. If you go to Fruitland Moms Facebook page you will see multiple complaints. 72 complaints about the principle alone in one thread. My child started off the year with a mean teacher that started taking away recesses on day 3 for not being up to her academic standards and that continued every week. I switched teachers after giving her a chance and the other teacher was a recess taker as well. My child is not a troublemaker or violent. They had told me they were having meetings about my child without my knowledge or inviting me to them. They sent home medical history evaluation papers for me to fill out without telling me why or what they are for, when asked if they were evaluating him for something they said no. So, I didn't give the forms back? I called the superintendent with my concern but never got a call back. I told the principle he cannot be taking all my child's recesses and class time away because he was a distraction in class when he already spent time in for that. Principle proceeded to tell me it's not my choice what happens at his school. They broke polices to notify me each time my child got hurt 3 separate times with head injuries. They run this school like a prison or detention center. There is a reason they don't let you post reviews on google. I ultimately had to switch my son out of the school. My son still has nightmares about the school. And lost a half a year of learning being turned to punishment detention center. Principle teaches a culture to his teachers and staff to be a punishment school. From screaming playground duties and Bus drivers this is by far the worst school I have ever encountered as a parent. And they don't tell you when they are in the office or kept in from recess. I had to find everything out from my son when he got home. I have never encountered such a corrupt and toxic system for children. I don't recommend taking your child to this school.Parent Review2mo ago7 Reviews - Gov John Rogers High School

"most lots are significant in size and most people with dogs have fences to keep their dogs safe from the busy roads. it also makes walking feel safer to have the fences. "

"Community BBQs, local family-friendly events, the churches are always hosting some sort of kid- and/or family-friendly event "

"Honestly, there's not really a whole lot of community events here. We basically travel to Tacoma (which is what Summit is part of anyway) to go to street parties and stuff. But, I prefer Summit to actually reside in because it's more quiet, has less crime, traffic & people and there's fields & farmlands and the people are nicer. We look out for each other. The neighbors help keep an eye on each other's places, especially when they know another is away. "

"not near enough public transportation by my street. I have to drive to get where I need to go. The closest bus stop is like 4 miles from my home, but it's not like that everywhere in Summit."

"the closest bus stop from my home is over 3 miles away and the closest store is the same. corner store/gas station is 2 1/2 miles. there are no sidewalks on the way there either. you have to drive or ride your bike and there's not anywhere to lock up a bike anyway, so best drive!"

"It's very quiet and the crime rate is very low. You're still in the city with a very country feel. Neighbors are great. This is a kid friendly area."
