3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWouldn't send your child here unless they actively plan to get into fights or conflicts. One of the staff told me she would contact my parent after i was struck across the neck by another student (she didn't). The student remained out of trouble for a full semester and my parents were not contacted until they came up to the school. The excuse was that she was so busy that she forgot to call, and also that black male students should have one more chance, even after hurting another student without reasoning. Teachers are great and truly care about their students, students here are unruly and ill mannered. Have fun getting away with bullying, smoking and such, you'll only get a day in ISS.Student Review1mo ago6 Reviews - Mary Lou Hartman Elementary School

"We moved here specifically for the community, schools, and the perfect central locations to downtown and the airport. We enjoy the community events, the street parties, and the community organization. There are so many people walking their dogs daily, it’s just a feeling of a true community. "

"I have resided in San Antonio ZIP Code 78210 for two years and I can’t say unequivocally that the neighborhood is improving. I feel very safe in my neighborhood. The neighborhood is lacking grocery stores, restaurants, bars, or any kind of social evening nightlife really. The streets are relatively well kept in the sidewalks are as well. I feel very safe, but it’s nott necessarily a neighborhood where I would go out walking after 9 PM. Neighbors are friendly if you are proactive in speaking with them. It is about the least outgoing, bunch of neighbors I’ve ever had in terms of reaching out."

"We have a 4th of July neighborhood parade. People in the neighborhood bring out their chairs and sit on the lawn to watch their friends/neighbors parade down the street dressed for the occasion in red, white and blue. Dogs are included."
