"I’ve lived here for nine years and while the town is beautiful it’s very cliquish and unfriendly. It’s also not diverse at all."
  • Amyb1228
"I drive to Parsippany Waterview park and ride and take the bus into NYC. The parking is available but only until about 7 AM, after that there are no spaces"
  • Rachel Ruggieri
"There are many dog owners in Mountain Lakes. The Boulevard is a great place to walk dogs. There are bag stations and trash receptacles."
  • Rachel Ruggieri

  • Bperitz3

  • Lkconroy27
"Comfortable trails to walk dogs with doggie bags available along the path. The tourne park is super close and a great place to run/hike with your dog"
  • wd2b
"I moved to Mountain Lakes from Dallas, Texas several years ago and fell in love with everything about the Borough. It's a bit of a hidden gem in Northern NJ. Safe, friendly, beautiful with lots of big trees and woods, it's has an all-American, Norman Rockwall-esque town type of feel. "
  • Stephen C.
"This location is an absolutely awesome neighborhood in which to raise your family - parks, lakes, tree lined streets and exemplary schools make this small family oriented community one of the best place IMHO to call home."
  • Debbie
"If you have kids, and want a great neighborhood feeling with lakes for swimming, paths for walking, biking and running, and a great sense of community, Mountain Lakes is the place for you, and, BTW the best school systems too."
  • Debbie
"Best "livability" town in NJ. 2 town beaches on 2 beautiful lakes, walking paths, track to run on, small town feel."
  • Turner
"My wife and I have lived in 9 countries and 10 states within the US. We were depressed when we first moved to NJ. "Discovering" Mountain Lakes changed all of that. This was one of the first planned suburbs of NYC dating back to 1910. It worked! No two houses are alike, and it is the largest concentration of Craftsman style colonial homes in the US, largely influenced by the Stickley brothers. Mountain Lakes boasts no mountains, but is hilly and has 9 contiguous lakes that are great for swimming, sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding and enjoying the Summer. Of course, the freeze over during the Winter and provide excellent ice for skating and playing hockey. There is an incredible social club with a large pool right on the main lake, a gourmet restaurant, full service bar, tennis courts and lots of activities for all ages. We were so close to buying a home in Mendham, NJ--but then a colleague's wife sent an unsolicited email detailing fond memories of raising children in ML, making friends, and how lovely the community was as they never locked their doors! Truly, if Norman Rockwell were alive today, he would set up shop in ML for inspiration!"
  • Sam
"Great town, outstanding schools...close knit community!"
