Competition is pretty high as the town (Davis) is a small community with a very large University of California campus, and thus is filled with parents who have advanced degrees and very high academic standards. I suspect academically weaker students will feel this, but on the other hand academically talented students will have the opportunity to excel. Curriculum and teaching methods are great and social/emotional support has been a blessing at struggling times. Many fun activities. "I grew up in what is now called Central Davis. (Born 1967, graduated Davis High 1985, graduated UCD 1989 and moved to Bay Area). It was an idealic childhood. I walked to Elementary school and biked to Intermediate, Junior High, and High School. We knew all our neighbors on the cul-de saq our house was on. Yes, where ever there were rentals to college students there were issues - parties, noise, messy houses - but if you get a house on a street with out college studends, it was/is an awesome community. My parents lived there until just this year. Same house - and had many of the same neighbor/friends for 40+ years."
