I had two students attend this school. We moved into this school when my oldest was in second grade. Overall, we loved Summerfield. My one complaint would be what I see as a lack of recess. We moved from a school that had recess before school, after lunch and in the afternoon if they had time. At Summerfield they have one very short recess, and for 4th and 5th, often didn't get recess on PE days because they felt they had their exercise for the day. They seem to view recess as something they are required to do and give the bare minimum rather than something joyful and fun and don't seem to get that it will help kids learn better if they have had a chance to run around and play!

My daughter attended this school for 6th grade, and she couldn’t wait for the year to be over. We transferred her out starting in 7th grade because of the constant stress and negative environment. The students are loud and disrespectful, with little to no discipline in place. There is constant cussing, fights, bullying. Sadly, misbehavior goes without consequences, and any teacher who tries to enforce rules is seen as the problem.This school may be in a nice area, but the learning environment does not reflect that. I do not recommend it—if you can, take your child elsewhere. Otherwise, be prepared for daily challenges.

Too much fights too much bad people everything about the school is bad. It’s not safe either.
