We do not live in this school district but school choice to have the kids go there. Would absolutely not want to go anywhere else.

Graduated of 4 years from this school. A major concern was the change in teaching staff. When I started, we had incredible teachers—experienced, passionate educators who truly cared about their students. They were dedicated to their subjects and made learning engaging. However, a wave of retirements and departures led to them being replaced by new, often inexperienced, teachers. While I respect that everyone needs to start somewhere, the difference in quality was noticeable. These new teachers, though enthusiastic, often lacked the deep subject matter knowledge and classroom management skills of their predecessors, which impacted the overall educational experience.Another persistent issue was the quality of the school's food. The lunches were consistently sub-par. It often felt like there was a lack of care in the menu and preparation. It was the kind of food you ate out of necessity, not enjoyment, and it certainly wasn't a highlight of the school day.The state of the school's bathrooms was a constant source of frustration. They were frequently closed due to vandalism, and incidents of vaping and drug use seemed to be a recurring problem. This not only created a significant inconvenience for students but also pointed to a larger issue with the school's ability to maintain a safe and disciplined environment for everyone.Throughout my time there, I often felt a significant disconnect between the students and the administration and teachers. While some individual teachers were exceptions, as a whole, it felt like the staff was detached from the student body's daily realities. This lack of connection made it hard to feel like our concerns were truly understood or prioritized by those in charge.This feeling of detachment extended to the counseling services. While the school provided counselors, I found them difficult to connect with. Conversations often felt impersonal and stilted, making it hard to open up or feel like I was getting genuine, empathetic support. It felt more like a required service than a true resource for mental and emotional health.While I hope changes are made, SFHS is not a recommendation of mine. I hope the school can address these issues to create a more supportive and enriching environment for future students.

I feel the school prepares students for the rigor of the high school while meeting the unique needs of middle schoolers.
