Where do I start…Transportation: kids are ROUTINELY late to school and coming home (hour plus late both ways) because the district can’t find a transport company (100% outsourced) that can keep employees, and the ones they have are not safe drivers (there have been multiple accidents this year alone (2025/26))School environment: The school started construction and never finished, hallways blocked off, all lockers removed, cafeteria not big enough to handle the volume of students.Classrooms: teachers who are consistently late grading assignments (thus we get notifications of missing assignments). Teachers changing the syllabus mid year because they can’t keep up (had a teacher tell my student that they can’t keep up with the reading grades so they dropped the required book reading). Teachers have yelled at entire classrooms numerous times and when confronted admin will deny and counter accuse students of causing disruptive behavior. Teachers can’t keep up with their overcrowded classrooms so grades slip, Chromebooks are used as a tool to replace one on one learning because very few of the teachers appear to want to educate over collecting pay and going home.Bullying: Kids here either have to be thick skinned and a little mean or they’re getting ran over. Verbal boxing matches and insults are a daily routine both in the classroom and in the hallways. There have been students that have spoiled themselves in class numerous times and instead of the school addressing this they tell everyone else to be accepting. Kids meow and bark at their teachers and each other…..it’s a zooOverall LC feels like a movie set, the kind of school you’d see on a bad 90s movie where the students are out of control, bullying is rampant, teachers are burnt out, and the principals have rose colored lenses and are reminiscent of “the good old days”. It’s really sad that LC is in the state capitals district but feels liked something in a run down inner city with no funding.

In my experience, negative behavior is reinforced with positive reinforcement, i.e..being able to draw on the board, or giving the student affirmations, which encourage negative behavior, and affirms the student, after doing absolutely no classwork during the school day. Their idea of punishment for negative behavior is very light weight punishment, like standing on a line during recess, instead of playing with the other students. . Teachers can not promote learning to take place when there is total havoc, and disrespect going on between the students against the teacher, and their classmates. A student asked me upon entering the classroom: are we going to learn anything today?. As far as Special education is concerned, students aren't provided with the necessary tools to become self supporting adults. They are pampered, instead of being encouraged to be self supporting. In my experience the school is more concerned with not inflecting harsh punishment, than they are promoting education, ensuring students are equipped to be successful in their life's ventures. As far as family engagement is concerned, it is welcomed because schools want to appease the parent, even when they are wrong; sometimes being over protectant parents, to keep down confusion.

I have serve anxiety and its hard for me to focus in my classes when I worry to much only some teacher care some staff members are really rude they should help student instead of making them have more anxiety only one really good teacher asks me everyday how my day is going Mrs Bischoff she is the best at helping algebra teacher
