A piece of history, known locally as the Lathrop House was built by John Virgil Lathrop in 1902. The Free Classic Queen Anne Style home is characterized by its asymmetrical massing, multi-gable roof, projecting bays, decorative porches, conical roof porch section, and ornamented gables. The home was placed on the National Historic Registry in 1988 and is one of the few homes in the area with this designation. The large wrap around porch draws you in. Through the front door you enter into the foyer with direct access to the main stairwell, the front living area and parlor. Tucked behind the stairwell is the main floor master bedroom. The main floor bath adjoins the bedroom and kitchen area. The kitchen features two refrigerators and two ovens, granite countertops and is truly the heart of the home tying everything together. You can step down into the sunken family room and escape out to the back patio for some fresh air, or sneak up the back stairwell to the second floor. If you're feeling more social, the expansive dining room is just off to the west and leads you back to the main living and parlor room. The second floor is home to three bedrooms, one with it's very own half bath, and a full bathroom at the end of the hall complete with clawfoot tub and marble vanity. The fourth bedroom on the second floor can be completely shut off from the rest of the house with a full bathroom, kitchenette and laundry and it's own private access from the back patio. The final stairwell leads you up to the third floor, fully finished apartment. The third floor can also be shut off from the main house, making it the perfect guest quarters or rental space. With so many options, including commercial zoning, this is the perfect home, vacation rental, or a mix of both!

    "This is a super nice area, very clean, safe and affordable!! Beautiful entry way to neighborhood gives it an upscale feel...not your typical "mobile park" setting. This is truly a neighborhood. with great amenities such as scenic walking paths through vast open space where you can run your dogs, or just enjoy a leisurely walk. There is a playground and also a community center to use for your parties, get togethers and meetings. Snow removal in the winter is included, so it makes it an easy, comfortable place to live, making it easy for families or the perfect lock and leave property! Within 5 minutes or less of downtown. Shopping and all schools are close by. Montrose itself is a clean, safe, comfortable sized community. It has all the amenities you need with a mild climate and 300+ days of sunshine, and yet close to skiing and snow shoeing, biking, hiking, jeeping, camping, and only 5 hours from Denver!...you name it Montrose area has it ! It's a great place to call home!"
