"Nice area by Lake Michigan. Peaceful and safe. Dark skies make for incredible star gazing. Many properties are rented in summer"
  • Kerry_klee
"Festivals, parades, beach, lake, rock collecting, walking, bike trails, parks, dog friendly, churches, concerts, shopping, restaurants, bakery, sunsets"
  • Rclark
"Great pace to walk dogs. Beautiful place to live. Great downtown area and beaches. Perfect place to live and vacation. "
  • Robynreneclark
"We have neighborhood events especially in the summer. Everyone kind of looks out after one another. It is very close knit."
  • Kevin M. R.
"There are few families as much of the properties are owned by folks in Chicago and they only come here for weekend getaways. "
  • Langburns
"I work from home but traffic here is non-existent, unless the bridge is up. Much busier in the summer than winter but it’s nice to have visitors. "
  • Pat H.
"We live in the harbor town of South Haven, a charming & vibrant beach town on the coast of Lake Michigan. Our neighborhood is ideally located one block from North Beach, and a 10 minute walk to town. It’s hopping with activity during the summer months, quieting down after Halloween, and positivity sleepy durning the winter. We love our friendly neighbors, although some are seasonal - we watch out for each other :) We love it here, and would recommend it to anyone looking for the beach life in the Midwest!"
  • valraburn
"Extremely safe and friendly. People on the street say hello. You can park your car and walk everywhere - shopping, restaurants, bars, old time theater, museums, and last but not least, fabulous beaches that can't be beat."
  • mkmcclure
"We have rented along North Shore in three different properties on seven different occasions. A bit busy on the weekends with traffic and many of the restaurants at the south end of North Shore have completely disappeared including the Three Pelicans. The real estate is overpriced and over-taxed. Essentially, the city of South Haven way overcharges the Chicago-area owners who dominate South Haven to get them to pay for schools, etc. "
  • Dee K.
"Lovely lake-side town with lots of shops and restaurants. Especially nice for anyone that likes water sports or just going to the beach. It's an unusual tourist town because it's kind of quiet in the evenings while other places we visited seemed to get noisy at night."
  • Auvergneplace
"Most homes in area are well cared for, new construction and remodeled homes thru-out area. Walking distance to supermarket, some restaurants nearby, Walking distance to highschool and grade school. About 1 mile to hospital. Easy walk to downtown main street. Walking distance to public beach."
