The best school I have ever experienced. Often times you won't see teachers leaving the school until 8 at night working on curriculum. The principal is FANTASTIC, she genuinely loves the students and knows most of the students by name. This school goes above and beyond to ensure that each student has supplies to get work done even if the child can't afford them they always ensure that each student has enough. The staff is involved with the families and ensures that Dan Powell is a place where kids can feel safe, and comfortable to try and excel. I don't think anyone could run the school better than Mya Asberry, these kids are getting the absolute best you would not know from the scores, the curriculum or the teachers that this was a title I school. GREAT JOB DAN POWELL!

"Public Transportation is nearly non-existent in this area and any real grocery stores are almost 3 miles away in any direction, this area also tends to have a high crime rate. However, the health care services in this area are good with at least two hospitals to choose from."
