I am extremely disappointed with this school and the lack of support and communication provided to families.Throughout the entire time my son was enrolled, I had no clear understanding of what he was learning. There was no consistent platform, newsletter, or communication from the teacher to keep parents informed. Additionally, there was little to no homework sent home, which made it impossible for me to stay involved in my child’s education.I enrolled my son early in the summer, expecting a smooth start to the school year. However, when August arrived, he did not even have an assigned teacher. Shortly after, I received a letter informing me that the teacher assigned to him was not certified. This was extremely concerning and unacceptable.More importantly, I requested an IEP evaluation on the very first day of school due to my son’s needs. Despite this, the entire first semester passed without any evaluation being completed. Instead of following proper procedures, the school unilaterally decided to move forward with a 504 plan. It felt like this decision was made to avoid accountability rather than to meet my child’s educational needs.As a parent, I expect transparency, timely communication, and compliance with educational laws. Unfortunately, this school failed in all of these areas.Because of these ongoing issues, I made the difficult decision to transfer my son to another school after the first semester. My child deserves better support, and no parent should have to fight this hard for basic services and communication.

My experience at this school was mostly negative. A lot of the teachers seemed burnt out and uninterested in teaching, which made learning harder. Most students clearly hated being there, and the overall atmosphere felt very unmotivating. The staff, especially in the mornings and in the front office, were often rude and unapproachable. It also takes an unreasonable amount of time just to get into the school, which causes many students to be late or miss their first or even second period. I rarely had teachers who actually taught the material, instead, many would just hand out packets and tell us to figure it out on our own. On top of that, the principal frequently interrupts classes with announcements that disrupt learning, usually just to express disappointment or make unnecessary comments or jokes. There are a lot of issues overall, but most of them come from problems within the district.

Today my son’s snacks were stolen from his backpack at school(AMMS). I would really appreciate it if we could continue teaching our children the importance of respecting other people’s belongings and not taking things that do not belong to them. The fact that someone went into his backpack to take his snacks is concerning and not okay. So this goes to say if I could give this school less than 1 star I would after sharing my experience with other parents who have children that attend this school the stories are horrific I am so saddened that my child has to attend this school the remaining of his jr high years and the staff just don’t give a damn about the students they are horrible at putting information out it’s hard to reach teachers it’s always send an email, I’m jealous of the parents leaving the area and to think my daughter is to come here in another year is driving me crazy. They need better staff and with my son having an IEP they don’t even have the proper staff to help assistanting him he comes home daily saying I don’t really get help even if I ask I’m sick of this school and we’ve been here for 5 months
