6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son started here in TK and is now in 3rd grade. I’m not an active volunteer because I have a toddler at home, but everyone in the office knows my son and they greet me by name. I’m so impressed with how dedicated every staff member is. I’ve loved all of my son’s teachers! I’ve even had one who wanted to purchase my two kids Christmas gifts from Santa! Absolutely amazing school, my son is excited to go to school, and is excelling. The PTA plans lots of family events like movie nights, dances, and ice cream socials. They are strict with anti-bullying, so I feel comfortable that my son is safe and happy. They use math books with instructions so parents can actually help with homework, because things have changed since we were in school. I love the Advanced Reading shirts and goals because my son can read so well now and comprehends it. Cannot say enough good things about Allen Avenue Elementary!Parent Review2y ago6 Reviews - Bonita High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child's experience at this school was that of nightmares. She was bullied relentlessly by a group of girls. They stalked her every day, called her every nasty name, including the "N" word. A student sitting next to her was drawing swastikas on each of his knuckles! I told a Black vice principal about those markings on the boy's knuckles, and he wasn't even shocked. The teachers and administrators did/do nothing -- zero, zip, nada. I would highly recommend avoiding this school at all costs.Parent Review2y ago30 Reviews - Ramona Middle School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePlease refrain from sending your children to this school. They are not prepared to handle children. My daughter was a straight A student until she came here, and at the end of the year, I discovered that she was failing sixth grade. I never received an inquiry or call from teachers asking why the sudden change occurred; however, I did receive a call complaining about her eating gum in class or being 2 minutes late. If they get into a fight, they are expected to remain silent and accept abuse or face suspension. Overall, the school is terrible. There are no resources for things like bus access or after-school services, and when you inquire, they appear annoyed.Parent Review1y ago21 Reviews - Check out schools near 710 Payson St E.

"Safe, clean, beautiful, elegant, private, quiet, secluded, old school suburban feeling. Lovely view in the hills, bike and hiking trails, golf courses. Santa visiting houses on Christmas morning. Need more young families and children programming, activities and events. Currently geared towards senior citizens mostly. "

"Christmas morning potlucks are always special, along with Santa riding through the neighborhood on a La Verne fire truck. A tradition that the city’s been doing for over 50 years! Also, summer movie nights in a neighbor’s front yards are a joy for all the kids. "
