The school nurse is intimidating and overly sensitive, which is bad for children. She should learn proper manner when speaking to parents. The education at school is short-sighted and fast-living, which is not beneficial for students after all.

TL:dr WHB isn’t better than other schools out east and don’t prioritize being in the district I attended the elementary, middle, and high school here recently. WHB is not “good” just because schools out east (Southampton, East Hampton, Hampton Bays) may be a bit weaker (debatable). WHB is better than Riverhead and Mattituck but its academics, athletics, and administration aren’t significantly better than many other nearby schools people criticize. I know people move to WHB for the schools and some students as far as Southampton tuition in, I cannot recommend doing either. If any other town on LI is preferable from a COL, career, lifestyle, or other standpoint then move there and not the WHB district. To get a quality public school education on LI you usually have to go up island. Ross has made a lot of strides in recent years if you can cover tuition. WHB offers passable AP courses. Motivated students with involved parents do alright and learn enough. Most students and most faculty are apathetic, some students really fall through the cracks. My cousins are from western Suffolk and wouldn’t believe some of what went on at WHB. There are drugs and light gang activity like any other school in eastern Suffolk, WHB is not at all immune from issues that WHB residents criticize other towns for.
