6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt's a good school and has really cool teachers that are understanding and know how to teach. Tutoring is also available by almost any teacher and since I've taken 6 AP classes at this school, the teachers really prepare you for the test and make you practice almost every class, you will only understand if you pay attention. If you pay attention for the majority of the class, you most likely won't have to attend tutoring (which is always optional).Student Review2y ago5 Reviews - Berendo Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRun, don't walk away from here. That said there are not many choices in the hard area that surrounds it. Kids are injured and neglected, they cannot PLAY ON THE PLAYGROUND every day - only once a week do they get to use the old busted play apparatus. There are no trees no grass. No nothing to nurture young minds. Everything is dilapidated. It is not their fault, as this is funding issue. But it is sad. The teachers let kids fight and hurt themselves when they line up in the morning, no one pays attention. When describing the school to another school, she said "Woah, that is sad" and yes, it is. The kids play on blazing hot asphalt all day with deflated balls that look ancient. It is REALLY sad. If you care about safety dont let your kid come near here, they will not watch them.Parent Review3y ago7 Reviews - Rfk Community Schools-Ambassador-Global Leadership

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a reply to the previous comment. As a former student, Alumni 2013, Ms. Torres and Mr. Muralles are both very dedicated to their students and exceptionally helpful. Never met anyone so passionate about their students; they never stopped to fulfill our needs. The reason for Ms. Torres not being able to be reached is probably due to the tremendous amount of work she has on her plate. There are only 2 counselors in ASGL, and they have to work their butt off to counsel kids from Middle School(6-8th) to High School(9-12). Sorry to hear your bad experience, but this school has immensely improved academically. Shot-outs to the counselors and Mr. Bailey. -Former Student :)Other Review11y ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near 708 S Normandie Ave #315.

"There are lots of families in our area with kids and pets , and there’s plenty places to eat. Parking is hard to come by, and its pretty noisy throughout the day. Night time seems quiet enough unless there’s a party near by and you can hear the loud music or it’s the 4th of July so you will hear fire works almost through out the year randomly which is annoying if you have pets or babies. It’s not the cleanest of places so be careful where you walk there might be broken glass or feces from dogs, cats or even humans. "

"the best part about this area that I've been in Bangladesh is they have Chateau party they have a lot of programs for children activity with the children such as baseball soccer basketball tennis and they fancy and I appreciate that so our children do have somewhere to go and socialize and achieve their goals that's the only thing in the last 20 years I've enjoyed in this neighborhood thank you"

"Lots of people have dogs. Some are very respectful of homeowners properties. Most are not. Very few actual dog parks. You have to drive to them rather than just walk. I am a dog lover but to be perfectly honest it's not a place I would like to raise a dog as a pet. "

"I’ve been in Koreatown for the past 10 years. I love the diversity of population and close proximity to a DTLA/Hollywood/Miracle Mile, and the food is delicious. But people do not pick up after their dogs and the homelessness is getting out of control."

"It’s centrally located and close to all areas of LA. Rents are still relatively low. Parking is absolutely awful. People are not neighborly and save street spaces daily when they have ample parking spaces in their lots. There’s very little neighborhood camaraderie. Bikes stolen frequently. Packages stolen so frequently it’s better to ship to an Amazon locker. My car has been broken into 3 times in 7 years. The only reason i stay is rent is so cheap for a huge space and it’s close to everything. "

"I love the diversity of Koreatown. I also love the walkability factor. I’m close to the metro so if I need to go to DTLA, it’s a 7 min subway ride. It’s possible to live without a car in LA if you live in Koreatown. "

"Gentrification and in-fill development has made this the fastest growing and most dense part of LA. Plethora of dining options and pubs/bars/clubs. More singles/couple oriented. Plans are being implemented to retain the Korean-American character. Some beautiful examples of architecture and stately buildings mixed in with modern and hodgepodge buildings. Closest thing to a walkable part of town with access to public transport aside from DTLA. Major homeless population is a big deterrent. "

"There is good diversity as far as restaurants in the area go. Other than that, the place is filling up with tents on sidewalks, as well as drunks passed out & rats running around. "
