About this House

In a structure dating from the 1920's, this newly-renovated (900 sq ft., 2
bedroom, 1 bathroom) cottage is nestled in a quiet residential area,
across the street from an unobstructed ocean view, and is 2 blocks away from D street beach access, and only a few blocks away from
Downtown Encinitas.
Rental is for July 1st to October 31st.
Rent includes utilities (Electrical, gas, Water,
long distance telephone, and internet), and the space is
fully furnished, including couch, chairs, dining table, dishes, and king
size bed. A rare find. I am the assistant of the person you will be
subletting the space from. He is out of the country for the next four
months, and we are looking to sublet the space from May 1st until
November 1st. I work in one of the bedrooms that we have converted
into an office. I answer emails, do video editing, and maintain computer systems. I am only in the office from 10am to 6pm Monday through Friday.
Otherwise, the space is yours. Please no smokers or pets.

Requirements to move in: I ask that first and last month's rent be paid before moving in, plus a $100 cleaning fee ($3400)

They still require office space while he is away. Tasks include answering emails, organizing and marketing his events, video editing, web design, tech support, and other IT things. We are only in the office from 10am to 6pm Monday through Friday. That is our personal rule to the person(s) who take the space. We also only use the restroom and kitchen, and we clean up after ourselves. We have had this arrangement (with a single employee) for the past 7 years, and it has been very positive.     "The neighborhood is a mix of retired people and new families. It’s not as communal as other cities I’ve lived in with many people driving in and out of the community and then staying inside or in their backyard. The gates parks prohibit kids meeting there unless they belong to an association. It’s odd to see a gated park that children cannot play on , meet new kids that live across the street, etc. I’m used to larger cities where there are more public places to gather, meet your neighbors, and create a stronger community."

Package theft does happen and people don’t clean up after their pets well. The rent is also really high around here. "
