Principal (new since COVID19) is great - very accessible, very involved, very visible and available to students as well as parents. Teachers are great. School is very diverse...represent real life. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is currently in her first year at VRES. Ms. Ramirez is her 1st grade teacher and she is quite phenomenal! My wife and I can see the substantial progress our daughter has made since her first day. Her reading, writing and math skills have all vastly improved, and she receives high marks on her assessments.VRES and the PTA are heavily involved in providing access to extracurricular activities, after-school programs and family/community. events. We are constantly kept in the loop via emails. The school practices fire drills and lockdown drills often. They also have an on-site police officer, as well as security staff. I have not witnessed or heard of any issues pertaining to violence or discrimination. I do not have personal input on the special education offered at VRES. I also have not heard of any issues from other parents regarding this. The sports teams and clubs are split into cliques by parents and coaches who enable said parents.
