Shocked by some of these poor reviews. I have never heard anything but glowing reviews of this school system. As a former student, this high school prepared me well for college/grad school and beyond. For such a small high school, there are a surprising number of extra curricular activities to get involved with- really something for everybody. I think it’s very telling that so many former students choose to move back to Lyme or old Lyme to have their own children attend this school.

Mile Creek is a great school that’s close-knit, and smaller-ish in size compared what our kids were used to in our previous town. They’re doing great, and the teachers and staff have been dedicated, compassionate and invested in academic growth for the kids. School is technically forward too, and currently upgrading the building, making for a modern learning environment. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with the Lyme-Old Lyme school system.

Super disappointed with the quality of after school clubs, and especially sports activities for kids at the Middle School. There is literally nothing to select from. No programming, no robotics, no cross-disciplinary courses that prepare kids for the future. Basketball team is impossible to get into and coach just does not care! There are lines of kids that want to play and cannot play. Kids have extremely limited sports options. Instead, there is a big obsession with vaccines. Vaccines are important, but being able to play sports is and develop intellectually is even more important. Would be great if the school was thinking through strong growth and development options for kids instead.
