The ridge of the Elk Mountains is formed of harder sandstones. Elk Mountain is the highest point of the range and has a lookout tower on its summit. Located in the Custer Highlands Subdivision, you'll have neighbors--but not a lot. If you're an introvert, or just don't like people, this is your heaven on earth! Wells are few and far between but there are great water delivery services and if you prefer to haul your own, you can do that in either Newcastle, WY or Custer, SD. The sunsets are stellar out here as well as wildlife. If there ever was a place to take a step back in time, this area is it. Windbreak on property.
