"Good bus transportation to New York and Willowbrook area. Trains are a 30 minute drive. Driving is doable within the region. The ride home into West Milford and Hewitt is always a natural delight."

"Our community has manny events Such as fishing tournaments, first dance, October fest and so on through the year plus the get togethers of just the neighbors. Awosting counts 200 homes. Part of the community is a club house and boat house on the lake. Both are used for community parties. We also have a kids playground and tennis courts and a community beach. There are sail boat regattas every Sunday. Even though we are only 40 miles from Manhattan live is peaceful in Awosting."

"I'm a city woman and visiting Greenwood lake was definitely extremely different in the the sense of it's environment. People in the area were reserved and not a soul in sight. The streets were extremely dark, I felt trapped after sun down if I had no car because there are limited street lights, not enough to see well. Everything is extremely quiet even during the daylight. I'm glad it was just a visit. I did meet 2 nice residents out of the area to where I stayed. My visit was for about 1-2 weeks."

"I have lived in west milford for 17 years. It is a great community for raisin kids. Just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of nyc but close enough to enjoy when you want to. Also very close to wine country. Always a plus! "

"I love my Lake community, my neighbors too which include beautiful wildlife like bald eagles, hawks, and yes bears. Bears are beautiful and harmless if you are a good neighbor. They are an awesome sight to see. If you choose to live here, be a nature lover. There is a lovely quiet to the night and the stars and sparkling water are amazing and very peaceful "

"country living at it finest still close to main city work. We moved here 8 years ago from NYC and it was the best decision we have ever made. if your not into the outdoors or powersports this is not the place for you. "
