Would not recommend this dump. Looks like a prison when you walk in and the pupils are left unattended and act like animals. Teachers dont care about their classes, maybe theres a few that do. Drugs are running rampant through this school and the staff does absolutely nothing. The pupils are selling drugs on premises. Staff knows this amd does nothing. Kids are doing drugs in the bathroom between classes. We had to pull our son out of this burning trash pit. Thankfully we were moving so we didnt have to enroll him in another Henrico school.

This school is a major disappointment. The admins and other staff will wait until literally the last minute to contact the parent about an issue involving your child that happened hours earlier versus right after the incident has occurred. This school also has quite a few teachers who are not board certified/qualified to teach but are hired as full-time teachers. The kids were already falling behind due to Covid and now due to the unqualified teachers, the kids are not able to learn at their respective grade level. Another subject I want to touch base on is the safety issue. The school claims to have a safety procedure or plan in place but the kids are constantly being bullied and threatened. School is suppose to be a safe and fun learning environment. Something needs to be done now because these kids are the future and we must provide them with whatever they need to be successful.

My granddaughter went here for 2 1/2 years. In her 8th grade year she became a victim of being bullied. Her Mother went to the principal and assistant principal. With no help from either of them she contacted the School Board. My daughter pulled my granddaughter out until the school board contacted her. They said that the principal and assistant principal Would be calling to set up an appointment to meet with both of them. She got the call the following day from the principal that they wanted to meet the next day. My daughter and grand went and the principal nor the assistant principal never showed up for the meeting he set up. My granddaughter’s 8th grade counsellor was there and apologize for the other two not being there. My granddaughter was bullied because she made friends with a girl that nobody liked. She at one point had 15 girls that were going to beat her up. One girl who was in one of her class threatened to set her hair on fire and to cut it off. The saddest part is that a lot of the girls were friends with my granddaughter before. My granddaughter said to me “ I’m not afraid of their words and I’m not afraid to fight 1 if I had to but I can’t fight 15!!!” So making friends with someone who doesn’t have many at this school seems to be an issue with some students that think bullying is okay! And where is the Principal? Sitting in his office playing on his phone??????Choose another School NOT ELKO MIDDLE!!!!
