9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a concerned parent, I feel compelled to share my experience and warn others about the deeply troubling practices at Draper Intermediate School. It seems that this institution has a concerning tendency to wrongly accuse students, including juveniles, of actions they have never committed, potentially setting them on a path to unnecessary punishment and hardship. In my case, my child was wrongfully accused of a serious offense, including being alleged to possess a weapon—an accusation that was completely unfounded. Unfortunately, instead of investigating thoroughly and ensuring fairness, the school quickly sent my child to the Achieve Academy Discipline Alternative Education Program (DAEP), which is meant for students who have committed severe offenses. The emotional and academic toll of being wrongly labeled as a troublemaker is immense, and it's something no child should have to endure. The impact of this wrongful accusation was not just academic; it severely affected my child’s self-esteem and emotional well-being. The DAEP program, meant for those guilty of significant misdeeds, further isolated my child from peers and placed them in a system that could damage their future. Even though my child was innocent, the mere association with DAEP had lasting negative consequences. I am deeply concerned about the way Draper Intermediate School handles accusations and discipline, especially when it involves young, impressionable students. Children are being wrongly accused and sent to a program that can haunt them for years. The system seems to be set up in a way that punishes without ensuring proper due process, and without offering the chance for a fair defense.Parents should be aware of the potential consequences their children may face in such a system, and I strongly urge the school to reconsider how it handles disciplinary issues. No child should face such dire consequences based on accusations that have no merit, and no juvenile should have their future impacted in this way. I hope others will take this into consideration when deciding if Draper Intermediate School is the right environment for their child.Parent Review1y ago7 Reviews - Don Whitt Elementary School

"I work from home for my day job and I drive about 3 minutes to my second job. My spouse drives about 30 minutes to work. "

"I don’t think they would enjoy that there are no sidewalks for safe walking especially so close to a main road."

"People living in this neighborhood now are not friendly or care about each other. I have only 3 neighbors that talk to me and give gifts on holidays. Right now one of is buying groceries for me. My New young couple on the other side are get too . Brought me dinner and also the other friend next. I shouldn’t complain, but when I bought this house over 30 years ago, every one was friendly and would take time to stop and talk to you. "

"this area is filled with a good amount of wealthier class and has become a really snobby place to live. everyone thinks they are better than others and their children are driving teslas to school and bullying the less fortunate or spoiled children. if you have children who are not cheerleaders or football players. live here at own risk."

"Great families raising good polite kids that care about the well being of others around them. Racism is Los only as bad as we allow it to be. I truly believe there will some a day when they two will come togrtber when. "

"The tollway is amazing, I don’t care about the commute because this is an amazing community, conservative in values and family. "

"21 miles to University Park area. Usually takes 4 minutes. There are at least four good ways out of the area, so this is pretty good for the burbs."

"It’s fairly easy, only a few minutes from George Bush. Traffic isn’t bad in this area, so it’s a nice win/win. Close to Dallas but yet not in the mix of all the craziness. "

"We have lived in the neighborhood for 9 years and prior to that we lived in the area for about 10 years and we love it here. We wave at our neighbors on the street and in their cars and we wave at our police officers and know most of them by name. We’ve had the police come out and remove a snake from our porch....it’s just what they do. There’s something about living in a small town! We love it!"

"We love Salmon Estates. It is a nice, older, established neighborhood with great people. We are within walking distance of police/fire station and the public library. If our current home were larger we would stay indefinitely. "

"This family friendly area is located north of Firewheel Mall and is close to major shopping and transportation. This golf course community has a club house and five (5) community pools. Many people looking to move to a larger/different home choose to stay in this area because there is so much to offer here."
