      "People are friendly, there are several things Avondale is known for. The Veterans Parade is very well known the whole town fills with people for it, the Base Commander even shows up. The tavern in town has several events every year and puts on fireworks displays for New Years and the 4th. The Church towns Jamaica days over a weekend in June, food, drink and games. It’s all around a great little town."

      "It’s a neighborhood like back in the 70’s and 80’s. Neighbors help and watch out for each other. Best Veterans parade around. Community celebrations, fireworks in town, usually done by the bar in town. So there is no need to travel to the congested downtown river walk. "
