3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHonestly, this school has improved a lot since my mother (40 years plus) has gone here. This school receives a lot of bad press because of what the scores were years ago but I know for a fact if you participate, volunteer, get involved and assist with your child at home that your child too will be a light in any school that takes the time to teach child with care, compassion and patience. This school has improved during the year my child attended and I wouldn't trade that experience for nothing in the world. Like all schools there are down falls, the only issue I would like to be addressed in this school are incidents that occur with bystanders, keeping the gate closed to the playground area and notices about any changes that were made during the course of the school year.Parent Review8y ago3 Reviews - Kendrick High School

"Very little traffic and it’s almost always quick. There is a good bit of construction on the roads that limits movement during the day, but it’s clear around commute times. "

"I love looking at the homes. It’s a little tricky to navigate the neighborhood if you’re someone who usually takes the highway and you’re unfamiliar with the Cascade hills area"

"I grew up in this area and I moved back around a yr ago. It has deteriorated over the yrs, sadly. The south side has alot of violence:shootings,drugs,break-ins and gang violence. There has been a few shootings recently in oakland park. There is a good bit of abandoned houses in the neighborhood. We definitely keep the doors locked. The schools are terrible,If we stay in the area will be hard-shipping my kids or home schooling next yr. "

"commuting is not bad at all there's a bus stop at almost every corner so there's no problem of getting around only thing is that there's not enough places that I can go and just enjoy myself within the city being that there's a lot segregation and discrimination going on within this beautiful city in which I think if we had outlets to enjoy it will decrease the unneighborly feel of the city"

"There are many dog’s in the neighborhood however you rarely see anyone taking them on walks. Because of this there is not poop to be cleaned up. "

"Lock your doors. There is a big mix of lifestyles here and that makes crime abundant. The area needs gentrification and cleanup in places. Then it would be safer for everyone. Houses could be more affordable if they were not gems in the rough. "
