2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school doesn’t care about their students all they do is listen to the teacher and the teacher does not try to talk to the kids and little mistakes they write the kids up and they always go to the principal to complain and the principal takes the teacher side and never the students. Honestly they need a teacher evaluation.Student Review2y ago4 Reviews - Kannapolis Middle

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had a great experience at GWC. The teachers are amazing and all of the staff knows all of the kids by name. It’s a small enough school to have individualized attention - something that can’t be said about a lot of schools in Cabarrus. Our kids have excelled academically there, with both exceeding state averages for test scores in all subjects. The AIG services have been exceptional and customized to our student’s specific strengths and challenges. The only potential negative is that it is located in a heavily impoverished neighborhood; that inevitably brings down test scores from disadvantaged kids, but there have also been a few times where my kids have told me about classmates’ stories of negative things with their family members (e.g., someone sharing about their older brother doing drugs, sharing about a family member getting arrested, etc.), though this has been rare and I’m sure there is some degree of that at every school. We’ve never felt that the school itself is unsafe; the staff is very caring, responsive, and communicative to both students and parents.Parent Review1y ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near 675 Cannon Blvd.

"No one picks up behind their dogs. No matter the yard. They also barely have the dog on a leash. Be kind to your neighbors "

"We do not have any community events in our neighborhood. Our neighborhood is very quiet and the neighbors pretty much stay to themselves. "

"No one uses leashes and allows the dogs to poop in anyone’s yard and not clean it up. They also don’t park appropriately on the roadways which block the access for emergency vehicles. "

"Awesome neighborhood, family friendly and safe! Traffic is only the neighborhood cars and it’s great for kids to play. Close to lots of shops and restaurants but not the crazy traffic like other nearby cities...Charlotte is only 30 minutes away at most"

"There is a really nice dog park where dogs can be off-leash and play. Dogs in the neighborhood are contained behind yard fences or are walked on a leash."

"Dogs are welcome. However there is a limit of 4 and it’s difficult to get the HSA to allow a fence without large gaps (which may be difficult for owners with small dogs) I have small dogs and we were able to get the fence, but it has to be a certain kind."

"I love Kannapolis. I moved here to get away from the craziness of Charlotte and it's been great. Everyone is usually friendly around my neighborhood and I know most of my neighbors. It's quiet at night and there's not much light pollution. Kids are always playing outside and there's a dog in every yard. There's a plethora of parks to choose from around here and the neighborhoods have sidewalks. The only real downsides are loose dogs running around and hanging about in the road. Some yards are also not well maintained and have lots of trash etc. Lots of dilapidated and abandoned buildings. "
