Most of the teachers at Danville Middle School are excellent but the leadership of the school and the district is incompetent. Two of my kids (both high achievers and intelligent) had bullying problems at Danville Middle School. The teachers were able to deal with the individual incidents but the same kids engaged in bullying in different classes over the course of the school year. I will disagree with the previous reviewer who thinks that only children of physicians are intelligent. There are plenty of children at DMS who are getting an excellent education and scoring high on state tests who are not the children of doctors. My third child will start at DMS in the fall. If the bullying issues are not resolved we will transfer her to a charter school.

We’ve been extremely pleased with our children s’ education. Great school!

As a parent, I can say that my children have all had amazing experiences while students at DPS. The teachers we have had were top-rate, motivated my children, provided nurturing and positive environments, and encouraged learning. The administration in the building is very involved and knows students by name. Even the janitors, lunch ladies, and secretaries greet the children by name, promote positive outcomes, and promote positive academic and social behaviors. The Train cards program and Ironkids programs are both great ways to encourage kids to do their best. The school encourages parent involvement and communication, and teamwork between teachers, parents, and the larger community. I highly recommend DPS.
