3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has autism and is in no way aggressive. He's been scratched, kicked, bitten, you name it. And today I found out to add to it he's being hurt on the bus. This boy is punching my son in his head, face, legs and private parts. This school has not kept my child safe and it's been a horrible experience dealing with them.Other Review9y ago3 Reviews - Southwest Middle School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy personal experience with this school was really bad unfortunately. I’m currently a senior right now. But all the things I went threw happened when I was a freshman. And I’m now in virtual homeschooled. 1.) The school is extremely overpopulated and it’s hard to quickly evaluate the building in emergency situations.2.) My whole freshman year I didn’t do any work I sat in class on my phone all day because when ever the teacher would try to start a lesson the students would be disrespectful. So a lot of them gave up. 3.) I feel like a lot of the staff don’t care about the student or their well being. It’s disorganized.4.) Bullying and fighting happen all the time. Kids are aggressive and I’ve noticed how to security guards take there time breaking up fights. 5.) They locked the bathroom to prevent student from skipping class in them even tho that didn’t help at all. 6.) Good luck trying to get on the bus because there’s not enough room for them. And the secretaries get an attitude when you tell them that you need a ride home. 7.) And none of the staff will listen or even try to positively change some things in that school. The book we learn in are out of date and scribbled in. They just don’t care. They don’t. It’s all about the money for them I can tell. And there probably never gonna change unfortunately. I wouldn’t recommend having your kids go to this school. Or at least trying out homeschooling instead. Especially if your kid suffers from anxiety, or other mental health. They don’t accommodate well for kids with special needs. They wouldn’t let me leave to go to a break room when I was about to have a panic attack. Even tho it’s stated on my IEP that I can leave the classroom to go to a break room when every I feel uncomfortable.Parent Review3y ago2 Reviews - SOUTHWEST MS

"Quit streets good hard working people A neighborhood's uniqueness comes from its unique blend of people, local businesses, amenities, and character. Factors like safety, the quality of schools, and community atmosphere contribute to its distinct identity, while specific features such as a thriving food scene, parks, or a rich history can make it special. Ultimately, a neighborhood becomes unique through the relationships residents build, the shared meanings they attach to places, and the lifestyle it"

"There are a lot of people that walk their dogs in this area and most people are animal friendly, but you do have some people that put up signs to keep off lawn. The reason I believe this happens is because you do have some people, very few, that will walk their dogs at night and not clean up. As a dog owner, I always clean up after my dog and I get very annoyed when I am walking and I see that someone didn’t clean up after their dog. "

"Absolutely nothing. I moved here because I lived among the elderly and they began moving and selling their homes after Covid. Now the neighbors are loud with music playing constantly. Outside smoking weed and using profanity all the time. Gets worse during the summer time. I cannot let my kids outside to ply because there is no respect for them as children."
