WELL I MOVED TO FLORIDA IN 2014 AND THIS HAS BEEN THE ONLY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MY NOW HIGH & MIDDLE SCHOOLERS ATTENDED I COULDNT BE HAPPIER THE STAFF SINCERELY CARES AT THE STUDENTS I FEEL LIKE FAMILY WITH MOST STAFF & TEACHERS THEY REALLY LOVE THE CHILDREN AND COMMUNITY IM ABSOLUTELY VERY PLEASED ON HOW WELL THEY COMMUNICATE WITH ME & MY HUSBAND THEY ALWAYS ARE INFORMATIVE ON WHAT MY KIDS NEEDS WHERE/ARE I MUST SAY FROM THE FRONT OFFICE TO THE CLASSROOM I GIVE THEM A+ IN MY BOOK I LOVE THE SMALLER ENVIRONMENT SETTING FOR MY CHILDREN AND THEY ARE THRIVING

It was a safe school, majority of good teachers. Help was available if you needed it. Decent amount of sports!

Assigned lunches are horrible. As a student who has never been able to make many friends, sitting next to the loudest white kids who are unafraid to say the n-word is not my cup of tea. Discrimination everywhere. The kids who talk like that participate in class, and always get rude in quiet. So, when the teacher overhears them, they just turn a blind eye, because the student isn’t THAT bad to go through all the work to get them a detention.(atleast, that’s what I hope is what is going on. the only other option is teachers agreeing with those students.)Some annoying but less important features of this school include:Horrible internet. Can’t text parents.There’s a courtyard with fake grass that you aren’t allowed to walk on, or else you will get in trouble.This problem was fixed last year I think, but originally, 6th graders often were caught in the pouring rain when transitioning from class to class.Also more of a district issue, but for a few solid months our bus was averaging 10 minute lates to school. Media Center/library. No clue why this is, and there could be a really good reason that I just haven’t figured out, but you can’t go to the library until school begins. So you are always having to miss a bit of class to go to the library, and on unlucky days ALL of your teachers will say no.Lack of teachers (also more district focused, I think). Was super excited to get art this year, but the teacher left, and they couldn’t find a replacement, so they put me in a class I absolutely despise.That’s really all I can think of at 3 in the morning. Pros? For one, there’s this cool but confusing feature they have with schedules, where every other week is ‘flipped’, aka, 6th period first.(it’s horribly confusing because each grade has lunch at different times, therefore classes surrounding lunches at different times. in reality, 1st becomes 6th, 2nd becomes 5th)If you aren’t from the district, this is one of the schools that ends an hour early on Wednesdays.I am like 75% sure you are allowed to use your phones before/after school. (before bell rings, after dismissal bell rings) Never got in trouble for that.Every now and then you get to eat outside. When it isn’t humid or like 100 degrees out, it’s pretty nice.The school provides you with ALEKS (a math program), and if you aren’t being FORCED to do it, it’s so fun and helps you SO SO MUCH.You can get high school credits in 7th and 8th grade, depending on the classes you take.(word count!!)

My grand- daughter attended Alee Academy and loved it! We found the teachers to be excellent and the administrative staff to be very supportive.! It was easy to have good communication. I was especially impressed with the concern the teachers & staff showed in various situations. I highly recommend the school for students who need a little extra help with academics and have some issues at regular high schools. Vivian Murray
