Currently I am a student at UCSC and I graduated from Los Padres. My experience was good at the time but now I realize that I was not prepared for what was ahead, such as studying at a university level. I would like to inform the parents that our (yes I include myself) lack of success is due to the lack of resources. What I mean by this is that the lack of funding for education is hurting the students, but what hurts the most is that no one takes the initiative to fundraise for the schools. In my opinion the more activities a school provides the better because that will keep them involved and out of trouble. I think that in order for these children not to form part of the statistic of drop outs is to provide them with a rich education that leaves with them that day of promotion. I am tired of hearing others blame schools and teachers when the community can come together and fun for the student's learning. If anyone is interested in this issue I am talking about then check out the video on youtube titled "First to Worst" it has seven parts to it. Trust me watching it will change your life I say it because it happened to me. Fortunately there is hope.
