All 3 of my children attended Chesterfield school and all look back on their time there fondly. Not every teacher or experience was perfect, but overall we were happy to have our children at Chesterfield. There was a good community feel and parent involvement was welcome for those who chose to find the opportunities. Our children were well prepared for academics, sports and social dynamics at Keene High School. My youngest went on to a well regarded private high school and also felt adequately prepared. We were happy to have a K-8 school in our community. Yes, it was smaller and didn’t have some of the offerings Keene Middle did, but the we felt the culture and nurturing at Chesterfield outweighed that. With that said, when it was time to leave for HS, the kids were very ready to move on! Note that my kids were there pre-pandemic. All schools have changed. Staffing is tight and unfortunately that means offerings for those gifted kids at the top and those struggling kids at the bottom have become more limited. It is something I see happening in many public schools and is the reason my youngest went to a private HS instead of KHS.
