When this home was constructed in 1988, this Builder was new to Venice and offered features and design ideas not found in many other new homes at the time; cathedral/vaulted ceilings, plant shelves and sky-lights. It retains an innovative and contemporary style. At that time this area of South Venice had unpaved roads and an ample supply of undeveloped home sites. The company bought lots and custom built dozens of home in the immediate neighborhood that had a positive impact and many others in South Venice and the surrounding areas. The property is a 100 x 100 foot corner lot, Non-Flood X Zone. The Finish Floor Elevations of this and neighboring newer homes are at 17 Feet or above Mean Sea:Level. The lot has no ditches, just shallow swales for drainage. No culvert was required under the driveway. The home has been meticulously maintained. Over the years of Ownership; Roofing, HVAC, Water Softening System, Appliances, Plumbing Fixtures, Interior Doors, Painting, Carpeting and Flooring were upgraded or replaced. The original Floor Plan is uploaded to the supplements. There is a huge Lanai, mature landscaping, irrigation system, a two car garage with storage cabinets. The pre-fab storage shed was assembled by the Owner. It withstood the impact of Irma while a wooden fencing at the property behind was blown off the posts, and replaced by that owner, the result a beautiful private fenced backdrop, Overall a great home for a new owner.

    "The EastGate neighborhood is a hidden gem. There are a number of nice, older homes on good-sized lots, with many being upgraded with every new owner or already renovated. There are also many future opportunities as you look around. It's a perfect location between historic downtown Venice on the Island, and east to I-75 and the new areas being built out there. There's a Publix a block over and Venice Avenue isn't as busy as Route 41. Even with all the growth and new development, this part of Venice remains low-key and very pleasant. The homes here are a good value for the money and worth either buying and renovating, or buying an upgraded one. One of the best areas in the city that is not on the island, and my family has been here since the early 90s."
