I'm a student at FMS. We have several outstanding teachers, but several really lousy ones too. Our test scores are really kind of lacking, but that's just because about 75% of the kids don't care about their work. It's obnoxious, really, to those of us who choose to take our education seriously. No teacher can make a student try unless the student wants to try, and most of the students here just don't want to. If you come in, though, with a good attitude and willing to apply yourself, you can thrive.

As a teacher here I see a lot of kids that want to be here and get an education. I also see a lot of kids that are more concerned with sports, and you tube, or games on their phones than their education. This page measures the state standards based on how each school is doing, but it doesnt judge those students that dont want another test, or arent interested in college, or AP, or the SAT. Those students are the reason FHS ranks lower in those stats, but that doesnt mean FHS is a bad school or under performing. It just means in this cycle, under those stats, that is how our sstudent population is doing. We as teachers can advise, and try to educate our kids, but if they arent interested in what we are teaching it doesnt matter. For my subject, I reach out to a lot of my kids parents, and I really get very few that respond back. It also shows up during Parent/Teacher conference. Very few of my kids/parents come to the conference. That is also an aspect not measured. If you are looking for facts, make sure you check all of them, not just a few.

I dont know where to even start. The school staff is extremely unprofessional. They chose favorites, and they speak badly about the teachers openly. They do NOT work with students who have IEP's. My son was injured on a field trip and NOONE contacted me. They made my son sit with a eye injury the entire school day and called me 10 minutes before dismissal... They have lied to me and been caught in lies. They have accused my son of things that were untrue, and I was later told the truth by other staff members. They allow bullying. My daughter was threatened and I showed physical proof, but the school did absolutely nothing about it.
