9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had an amazing experience with this school. It is very academically oriented, with teachers who go above and beyond to accommodate students’ intellectual needs. The curriculum is rich with STEM-oriented activities that not only challenge students but also their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. The teacher consistently encourages and supports students in reaching their full potential. The school environment is safe, welcoming, and inclusive. School events are always well-organized and inviting. Communication with parents is excellent. The school actively seeks out parent input and values collaboration, which we greatly appreciate. It comes as no surprise that this is a Blue Ribbon school, it truly lives up to that recognition in every way.Parent Review1y ago13 Reviews - West Lafayette Intermediate School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school curriculum and teaching approach is centered around high ability math students. All the way through high school these students are given most of the opportunities. If a student is not a high ability math student then they are separated in math class starting in the low grades. Not "extra help" but separated in a way that feels humiliating to the child, especially for American children of color. There are no other 'abilities' that are magnified and supported. The students do no write or reflect in the classroom. For language arts, they are presented with mechanics that make learning about language and communication very dry and dreadful. They spend a lot of time separating kids based on data but not a lot of time cultivating various types of intelligences or learning styles. Communication with the parent is minimal and by 4th grade parents are strongly encouraged to be hands off with time management and due dates. Then, when the child gets behind, the parent is retroactively held accountable. This only further elevates the 'high ability' math students to surpass in achievement and leaves other children behind. Sadly, I would strongly recommend against this school. Surrounding school districts are much better, with the benefit of lower property taxes.Other Review3y ago7 Reviews - West Lafayette Jr/Sr High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent who moved to West Lafayette for its reputation as “the best” school district in Indiana, I am deeply disappointed by our experience. The district benefits from the presence of Purdue-affiliated families and uses high test scores to tout academic excellence—but in practice, the quality of instruction does not match the marketing. My children are bright and capable. I homeschooled them during COVID, and they returned to school testing well above grade level. However, each year since re-entering the public school system, their standardized test scores have declined. More troublingly, so has their confidence and love of learning.Instruction in WL schools seems designed for students who already know the material. Teachers are more like passive curriculum facilitators than educators. There is little to no instructional support for students who need to be taught—only for those who already perform well. When I raised concerns, I was repeatedly told to seek a diagnosis and consider medication just to access basic educational support. This should not be the price of inclusion.Ultimately, I had to withdraw my children and return to homeschooling, where they are now rebuilding their skills and self-esteem.This district may work well for families whose children already thrive in high-pressure, test-driven environments. But for families who believe education should be about teaching—not just ranking—this model is deeply flawed. It rewards privilege, not potential.Parent Review1y ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near 655 E Bulrush Ct W.

"I work remotely so there is no commute. Traffic isn’t too bad in the morning when school is not in session."

"I've lived here 30 years and seen it transition and grow, it has always been beautiful and safe. Lots of families with kids playing. Friendly neighbors and neighborhood gatherings. On the outskirts of Purdue campus and in the best public school district in the state. "

"There are many places to walk dogs and keep them well cared for as well as grooming and boarding. There are, unfortunately, a few negligent dog owners who allow their dogs to run loose which sometimes complicates enjoying the outdoors with your pet. "
