About this House

Stuart, VA home for sale. Home was built when homes were built to last. Thick pine paneling, hardwood under carpet and a brick fireplace are highlights of the main floor. The large kitchen is open to the den which looks out a large window to the huge covered, side porch. The creek running the long back line can easily be heard while sitting on the porch. The baseboard electric heat is supplemented by a gas wall unit in the den, a wood-stove on the lower level and the fireplace in the living room. The partially finished basement contains a second kitchen for canning and lots of additional storage. With a full bath in the basement it could quickly be converted to a full apartment with its own outside access off the large carport. The shaded driveway leads to the carport on the back which is joined by a large 25 x 10 unfinished, shop area.

    "Stuart is a quiet small rural town in the mountains (think Mayberry :), and just beautiful views of the mountains everywhere. It's only a few minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway where we've taken advantage of loads of hiking trails, biking, and fishing. Stuart has a local park within walking distance of our house, and there is a great biking trail nearby - the New River Trail which is a "Rail to Trail" that allows horses as well as bicycles. Personally, we were looking for peace and serenity, and have a mountain creek in our back yard with little rapids and big rocks! We'll take that over nightlife any day of the week. Which brings me to the categories that I recommended for the area. I didn't include singles because of the nightlife thing, but from the standpoint of sports type activities, I might should have included them. I've walked a couple of trails and came to the conclusion that they were definitely for the young! "
