At a public meeting, with the principal leading and a few teachers attending, I did not care for the temperature in the room. I found the principal condescending and would encourage the teachers to take sensitivity training. Some displayed unethical behavior and might improve their skills with ADA/learning barriers. I am sorry for any child who struggles with disabilities and is in their classroom.

Reedsport, like many other schools, has had it's ups and downs. However, the past several years at Reedsport School District has seen a positive change in many ways. They've had a great administrative staff working hard toward the positive changes I've seen. It's not easy or fast doing to turn a school around that has continually been badmouthed. It doesn't help when a parent has one negative interaction with one staff member from the district and all of a sudden the whole district is being put to shame. We as parents and community members have to step in and help the schools succeed. Teachers and administrative staff any any school is spread so thin and they walk on eggshells making sure they are following all of the rules and laws set forth by their state. We need to be understanding and have patience when we approach these people that get crap pay for the stress they deal with daily. With all of that being said, Reedsport is doing great and I see nothing but positive changes being made. Anyone would be lucky to attend this small school and feel the support of the community too.
