9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePrincipal doesn’t take threats seriously. A student threatened another with a gun and the principal didn’t believe it was true. Most teachers are disrespectful to the students. One paraprofessional yanked my son by the neck of his sweater during a drill and when I raised a concern about it I was told well she will stay in the classroom we will just tell her not to do that again. Additionally, there’s no extra help for struggling students. Horrible school 10/10 do NOT recommend.Parent Review1y ago7 Reviews - Orville H. Platt High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is on the track team, and they went to a game yesterday. A misunderstanding happened between her and one of her male team members. His girlfriend decided to get involved and started an argument which later led to a fight after they got back to Platt High School. Her mom and her boyfriend's mom drove to the school just to start a fight with her and I don't understand how they allow the parents to go into the locker room to start with. The coaches were all in the locker room as well when the fight happened. I am yet to get a call from one of them and my daughter's arm got injured. This is not going down like this. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in front of the coaches. To top it off, none of the coaches even called me to discuss this issue. This is the second time an incident occurred, and I wasn't informed of it. When I went to get my daughter from her school, I was informed by some of the students about what was taking place. The level of prejudice and favoritism in this school is really unfair. I deemed this school unsafe. They all need to be investigated and held accountable for what happened.Parent Review2w ago5 Reviews - Washington Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was very nervous about this school due to rumors and such, but rumors is just what they were! We have had nothing but a positive experience. From the students to the staff my child has been treated with kindness and respect. He loves the curriculum. They have so many activities and so much support at this school!I'm especially grateful to the Office staff who has made every effort to make sure the kids are safe and always know there is a WMS staff member who is there to help and support not only the students but also the parents! Shawnna in the office has been my savior and the schools principal Jessica is very in tune with the staff and students this makes all the difference! The teachers are the best, you can tell just a few moments of speaking with them how much they truly care about their students! This is a huge change from when I attended Meriden schools (too many years ago to admit LOL) For me this is a very big deal. The teachers have so much impact on their students future, maybe more than they even know. I could not be happier with our experience! I am so happy and my son is loving this school.Thank you to all the amazing staff at Washing Middle School!I look forward to the next few years of my sons education with you all!Parent Review8mo ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near 64 E Main St.

"Parents must ensure a sense of cooperation, empathy and realization among their kids. They must have an eagle’s eye upon their kids’ outdoor activities. "

"There aren’t any. There is nothing to do in Meriden other than drive to other towns. Meriden has zero attractions for residents, the town has nothing but fast food restaurants and a dead mall. No museums, no culture, not even small independent retailers. The town is dead. "
