"People try to respect one another with their pets . People are friendly and walk their dogs the yards are maintained . You can get internet service here . "
  • Gadzuuks
"Its generally a nice safe area. Living in the trees feels like your camping all the time. I wouldn’t walk by myself at night because of the wildlife, not the people"
  • Ruth
"Dog owners often walk their dogs, usually on a leash. Friendly neighbors, peace and quiet make this a wonderful place to live. "
  • Ruth
"Community events include trivia night, game night and POA dinners and concerts. There are also hiking trails, tennis courts, a pool, and exercise classes. "
  • John C.
"We survived the 2018 camp fire that ended up burning almost all of the town of paradise. Along with about half of our town Magalia. That brings us closer than we use to be."
  • Gadzuuks
"Most events used to take place in the neighboring town of Paradise until it burned down. They had a farmers markets 2 days a week. And a few annual events. But it will all come back again"
  • Robert G.
"Pretty much a quiet neighborhood. You have you’re usual few people whose dogs get out. But if you want to hit the trail, there’s a great walking trail off Carnegie that takes you to a year round creek. A nice walk thru the forest, but make sure you bring protection, after all, it is the woods, and really don’t know what critters are there. Even Sasquatch maybe....lol"
  • Robert G.
"I’m retired. No commute necessary anymore. To get to Chico on a busy day takes about 1/2 or so. Depends where you’re going to in town. Other than all the dump trucks and equipment being used because of the Camp Fire clean up, traffic is usually pretty light for the most part."
  • Robert G.
"It’s pretty quiet and safe. Most of the neighbors are pretty nice and willing to help you out. Mostly retired and older couples. Nice “home” feel to the area. "
  • Eljorg
" The many trees in the neighborhood which makes it also a fire hazard!! So against possible community rumbles and the true environmentalists who love trees every 2” away from, it would be advisable to plant trees further from each other apart. Then I would like my neighborhood and I would like to stay. But nothing is done in that direction and I will leave this area as soon my house will sell. "
  • Jessica Z.
"You would like to walk your dog here its comfortable and nice lots of hills though used to walk dogs A lot here "
  • Ruth
"My neighborhood is pretty much the only one left standing after the Camp fire. It’s as beautiful as ever until we drive to Chico through what’s left of Magalia and Paradise. So, the commute is the worst part of living here. "
  • Carrie L. R.
"it is beautiful here, and good people, but some criminal element and drug users. There used to be good restaurants before the fire. Hopefully they will reopen soon."
  • Carrie R.
"There are usually many activities here , before the fire. Neighbors and friends are helping a lot. "
  • Jamielcabrera
"There are many homes in the area but there is little other than that. It is a quiet and relaxed environment to raise children. This is a very rural community."
  • Autumn G.
"it's peaceful and relaxing and quiet I love how quite it is seeing the animals walk through the front yard is always nice"
  • Supkrod
"The road is safe and the traffic flow is decent in most areas. The city of paradise is making improvements. "
  • Supkrod
"Old Magalia is a quaint little area between Paradise and Magalia. There are no mansions in the neighborhood, just real people who work hard "
  • Adam P.
"We moved here from a larger city in Southern California a little over a year ago. Magalia is so much safer of a town than I am used to. Small town vibe in a small town"
  • Najrod1
"With DSL in the home My Husband can work from home. Within 3 miles are all emergency services. Neighborhood Watch has been set up in the area for a safer community. Forest get-a-way appeal with City amenities near by. "
  • Arlene I.
"Located in the sierra foothills Magalia has Just enough snow to make it fun in Winter. So much cooler in Summer. Gorgeous fall and Spring A Major hospital close by, plenty of doctors, small and large markets, Rite Aid, 4 gas stations, hair salons and if you purchase in the Paradise Pines Association, a large pool and year round activities that celebrate. Holidays...size of Magalia is not too small and not too big ."
  • Cupojoyespresso
"Great community, working people, families and retirees. Has association with many activities, golf, tennis, swimming. Lakes and streams nearby. Convenient shopping, groceries are expensive, better shopping in Chico."
