This school is fairly average despite the district's reputation. The staff is very welcoming, but there are some teachers that are toxic and overly strict. Student behavior is very poor, with little to no consequences. The new administration is trying to set boundaries but many students don't care. Bullying here is rampant, especially towards LGBTQ kids. I would not send your children here if they are especially bright or sensitive.

Student. 1964 grad. WLHS provided me with fantastic stem prep for college. Did AP calculus, when unknown, and freshman engineering class at OSU few had any calculus. Career in Mechanical Engineering and felt well prepared

My family's experience at Bolton was all bad. My child is very high achieving and was repeatedly punished and publicly shamed for showing normal signs of boredom with the material. They were also bullied by a classmate and even physically hurt by this classmate multiple times and no one at the school did anything. We were never even told that it was happening until our child told us. When we met with the teacher about it we were told that it had been a problem for months, but we were never informed and it was never stopped. We immediately switched schools for the next year and have been so happy. My child is encouraged to learn at their own excelerated pace and their uniqness as a person has been celebrated by every adult in the school. My child and I both look back on their time at Bolton with sadness. It was a really difficult year.
