  • Bignino2000
"Tarzana is a nice town hidden between the bigger known names such as Woodland Hills and Encinitas but still has great views and walkable streets and still keeps the suburban feel "
  • Trulia User
"I think it is important for parents to know that Encino is a very nice place to live , but it also requires diligence to keep it this way as every part of LA has the potential for “petty crime” and issues with the homeless, so it takes a community to solve these issues that do sometimes appear in Encino. "
  • Trulia User
"They would like the park and the quiet streets The wouldn’t like the rude owners that don’t pick up after their dogs and the lack of sidewalks on some streets "
  • Trulia User
"Great schools near by Neighbors look out for each other Safe park for children to play in near by Pets are friendly in the neighborhood "
  • Trulia User
"They would like the close parks in proximity to the neighborhood anole with other dogs that are friendly and on leashes "
  • Trulia User
"Very safe and suburban. Easy for raising a family given restaurants and kid activities. The schools are all above average with a mix of public, charter and private options all nearby. "
  • Trulia User
"It’s close to some bad areas, people drive far too fast for kids to be outside. There are people wandering the streets at night who scream to themselves "
  • Trulia User
"Every night helicopters buzz around for at least a half hour, and there are all these celebratory loud bangs"
  • Trulia User
"Has a bus line that is close but the homeless abuse the transportation and It is not always safe however there are other bus lines that are safer to use but they are timed too far apart and don’t always run on schedule "
  • G.Vitte
"This area rapidly becoming Valley equivalent of best residential areas like Beverly Hill, parts of West LA, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades It’s secluded but close to all great venues and good schools The neighbors are a predominantly friendly and open minded, very respectful about each other privacy "
  • Zhanna_ko
"There are tons of families with pets. Very family oriented neighborhood with high end homes for the most park and quite safe"
  • J
"Orange line is 2 blocks away and it takes 1.5hrs to get to downtown LA. There are many small dog owners and homelessness is rising. "
  • Aayaat S. R.
"TarzAna is low key peaceful and calm your kids can play outside it’s amZingly safe we have our amazing west valley police station so hard at work to protect us and neighborhood watch to keep us safer ."
  • DawnRoberts86
"it can be dangerous in certain parts of tarzana. Very transient neighborhood depending on how close you are to the 101"
  • DawnRoberts86
"it can be a dangerous area depending on where you live. you need to have a car for reliable transportation as well."
  • Tg
"Close distance to shops and freeways. Next to golf club and nature parks. The homes values are increasing every quarter with new families moving in do to the great schools. "
  • Unspecified
"I see people walking service dogs only, most neighbors don’t like dogs around. This could be better if the apartments allow dogs."
  • Weston F.
"never been to any local events however it's not that far of a drive to woodland hills or even Santa Monic plus downtown LA."
  • Samantha L. L.
"Varied cultures, very walkable and great hikes up in the hills. I do feel safe here, homeless population is growing and I wish I could do more to help. Single mum raiding two kids is no easy task that’s for sure.. I’d love more community here."
  • Laurel
"Meetings to discuss neighborhood issues. Strong sense of community. Strong relationship with local police."
  • Laurel
"We didn’t raise children here, so not as knowledgeable about things for kids. There are some nice parks in Woodland Hills and Encino though. "
  • Jimmyvalencia0618
"It’s a great place no violence, just parking problems. If you have no assigned parking good luck trying to find parking in the streets especially on Collins and Reseda "
  • Remodelms
"Nice and peaceful Close to shopping centers in to the freeways very nice area to live in Very nice place for kids "
  • Myrna
"everything is close by, great neighborhood, great schools, great restaurants, coffeeplaces to hang around. "
  • Cortni S.
"Although I drive everywhere, plenty of things are within walking distance. Restaurants, stores, banks, hospitals, coffee shops, and bars are all within walking distance."
  • Nancy C.
"I love the location. Close to Sherman oaks and Calabasas Friendly businesses. Pretty neighborhoods. Most streets are all custom homes old and new."
  • Jocelyn M.
"Rude people who think they are better than everyone else. Secluded but... with the wrong type of people. "
  • Jen S.
"I see people walking dogs all the time which is nice. But also I hear dogs barking all of the time. "
  • neighbor
"Almost all neighbors have dogs. The barking is beneficial and never any issues too early or too late. Dogs are often walked along these streets, the occasional coyote and raccoons and thieving squirrels that no dog can apparently scare- the coyote issue is rare, i believe most of us haze if we find but they are often too fast, and since displaced by fires and during mating season more are around so people do need to beware at all hours."
  • Matt R.
"I've been living in the area for a year and half and I found it very safe, friendly neighbours and great location for family"
  • Jean P. H.
"I live about 12 minutes from work and my son goes to school in northridge. Traffic in the morning is ok but has been getting worse. "
  • Lisa P. L.
"No community events, but it would be nice if there were. I would just like if neighbors were out and friendlier."
  • Natasha R.
"N/a no community events. Just love that it’s super animal friendly and each complex is different and unique "
  • Aalia R.
"I’m visiting. It’s suburban but can walk along the sidewalks. People are friendly. Convenient to freeways. "
