I went here 2010-2014. It's true that a lot of students did get outside tutoring but I never did, and I did very well at this school (skipped a lot of classes in university from AP credits, and honestly the teaching here was better than in uni). There are some exceptional teachers and a handful of mediocre/bad teachers. I usually had very good teachers. They were both good instructors and supportive, caring people. The teachers were probably my favorite part of going here. This school is known for students sometimes having mental health challenges caused by a high pressure to perform well, but in my observation this came from the parents of the students and not from the school staff, so I don't think its fair to blame the school about that.

If your child ends up having any problems out of your control, the staff will be relentless in their handling of the situation while treating it as if it is the parent's or student's fault for their unfortunate circumstances. In my time here I have also witnessed mistreatment by both faculty and students toward students with disabilities, not understanding the accommodations required for those students to excel in a safe environment. I have friends who still talk about JLS staff and teachers in their therapy sessions well into their college years.

So far so good. We are super happy with the school, started to attend last October and our experience couldn't be more smooth. Very welcoming and caring community. Our teacher - I've never seen anyone spending so much energy and trying so hard to make every student to be happy and be a good performer. My son enjoys going to school and this is the best sign that it's great!
