1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended this school from 2023 to 2025, and unfortunately my experience was disappointing. One of my biggest concerns was the quality of instruction. In many of my classes, lessons often consisted of watching videos, completing assignments directly from textbooks, or working independently for long periods. I felt that there was not enough direct teaching or explanation of the material. While building positive relationships with students is important, there were times when classroom conversations seemed to take away from instructional time.I also had concerns about student safety. During my time at the school, my friend and I experienced ongoing conflicts with other students. The school’s response was to create a no-contact agreement, but from my perspective, it did not effectively address the situation because we still had to attend school around the same students. As a result, I often felt unsafe and unsupported. I also witnessed multiple fights during my time at the school, which contributed to an environment that often felt stressful and distracting from learning. I understand that every student’s experience is different, and I know some former students have had positive experiences here. However, my experience was that the school appeared to place a stronger emphasis on athletics than academics. I believe schools should work just as hard to prepare future teachers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, and other professionals as they do athletes. This review reflects my personal experience as a student who attended the school from 2023 to 2025. While others may have had different experiences, these were the challenges I faced during my time there.Other Review1mo ago3 Reviews - Thelma R. Parks Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principle has a horriblr attitude and i dont think she is right for this school. Surprising to see this is a 5 star school when its really should be a 2star. The kids 4th grader dnt have much or any feild trips or recess. The test scores could be alot better and the school is just plain boring Period. My cild begged me not to put him back there and i didnt have a problem with that since i cant stand that so called principle.Parent Review12y ago1 Reviews - Moon Middle School

"Easy access to main highways, simple and convenient drive. I think my neighborhood has the best access because each entrance/exit are to a major road. "

"The neighborhood park is nice and well taken care of. There are all ages of kids. It is typically quiet at night. For the most part traffic is good, but sometimes too fast during peak hours. "

"I’ve lived here for three years. It’s quiet and peaceful. I plan on living here as long as possible. Yes there are a lot of homeless people but no issues so far. I do see a lot of people going for walks with and without pets. I love it here. Excellent landlords. "

"Traffic is really bad in OKC and it’s very hard to walk anywhere unless you’re downtown. We do have a lot of really good restaurants out here and some interesting history."

"We have cookouts, fireworks (that we probably shouldn’t have 😄), birthday parties, and next week we’re having a retirement party. We decorate for holidays and don’t get things stolen, and we don’t get our packages stolen either. "

"Turnpike is 4 minutes away or 7 minutes during A.M. rush hour due to cars backed up 2 traffic lights. Traffic flows well on frontage roads, except rush hour. Afternoons especially, traffic backs up at turnpike exits. The wait to drive through an intersection can be 3-4 cycles of traffic lights."

"you do see other people walking their dogs? We just like to have them on leashes there are a lot of dog parks in Oklahoma City. If you just look for them great groomers in Oklahoma City downtown area."

"It’s a nice quiet neighborhood. The neighbors that I have met are very friendly and watch out for other’s homes. Some of us trade pet care and, mail and lawn watering chores if the other is out of town. The number of families with families has increased since I moved in. In 2010 most people close to retirement age older. My child was 3 1/2. The children from several families up and down the street play nicely together. I’m not aware of any crime and have lived here 15 years. "
