3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our first year at Lafayette. I think the principal and staff are wonderful. There are after school activities, sports and groups that meet. There are free breakfasts and lunches for all students, regardless of income. What I feel is lacking is the gifted/ accelerated program. But there is a wonderful warmth and diversity to the school that lacks in many suburban schools. The school is working hard to improve parent involvement and there is a strong anti-bullying program implemented. I would recommend this school.Parent Review16y ago1 Reviews - Reynolds Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEvery year I point out how unfair these ratings are to the population that this school serves. To anyone relying on these ratings please understand the high percentage of English language learners at this school. The school is a great place of diversity and opportunity. The staff is fantastic. Please visit before judging.Parent Review9y ago3 Reviews - McCaskey Campus

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt is hard to be capable with over 2500 students in attendance, over 300 staff members, a multitude of backgrounds but McCaskey pridefully embraces it with open arms. McCaskey takes in more students from different countries than a quarter of the US which is why it's test scores struggle. Admittedly, they are not only my Alma Mater but my employer now as well so I may seem bias. But as someone who has spent some of my hardest years in life there, I can say they saved me. "Our family has greatly enjoyed watching the growing transformation of Lancaster City over the past decade. Being parents of several school age children, we have found the Lancaster City School District to be very accommodating for the special needs of our children, allowing them to grow as well rounded students. Being as that my wife and I both possess a degree in education, this observation should not be considered as anything but what it is. We are impressed! The multicultural and varied socioeconomic levels that share this little town provide a great place to learn about the world, ourselves, and to enjoy the adventure with people who care."
