Description

Solid brick and block constructed home in beautiful near 1/3 acre setting with mature plantings, gardens and trees. This home has never been resold or rented before. This is an estate sale and it has been owned by original owner for 60yrs. It is in need of complete renovation. Roof and HVAC should be in good condition.
This home is much larger than it appears with 4 good size bedrooms on the upper level and a 5th bedroom or ( in-law suite) in the sunny walkout lower level. The home boast expansive rooms not typical of Potomac Hills homes. A large entry foyer welcomes you into the home off of which is a very grand living room with a wood burning fireplace flanked by built-ins. The original solid oak hardwood flooring is in beautiful condition in both the living room and the spacious dining room.
The kitchen offers a large eat-in area, lots of cabinet space and a pantry. There is a huge recreation room in the lower level with sliding glass doors to the rear patio. The 5th bedroom and a very large 3rd bath are off the rec room as are a super sized laundry room and a very large walk-in closet.
There is a 4 car garage (yes 4 standard size cars can easily fit) which is extra wide allowing for a workshop as well as utility closet.
An attic is easily accessed off the front middle bedroom and offers plenty of extra storage if needed.
This home is livable and has good bones but is in need of updating and is being sold "as is". A perfect renovation project for the right person
or
This could be the perfect enchanting setting with its large trees, plantings and gardens which have been cultivated over the years on a street known for its larger lots. Several new homes have been built on the street recently.

"Many sidewalks, parks, close drive to activities, grocery stores, easy access to DC via metro, vehicle, bike, or under. Easy access to DCA and IAD via metro or driving. Numerous social opportunities locally and regionally, local traffic is not terrible. "
  • Ed Tapscott
"I have lived in McLean for more than 30 years. It is a wonderful place to raise one’s family while being close to downtown DC."
  • Darren
"Enjoy all that the Nation’s Capital has to offer. Also, Tyson’s and McLean offer an extremely rich and diverse restaurant scene!"
  • Ed Tapscott
"Public Transportation is varied and convenient. All of the DC area is accessible from McLean using public transportation."
  • Paigectsmith
"Beautiful homes, very hilly, fairly diverse. It is not necessarily unique, but it’s a beautiful place to live!"
  • Trulia User
"there are many families, this is good information to know so they can make better educated decisions "
  • Trulia User
"The commute to DC is approximately 40-45 mins. The traffic is steady it leaving home around 8:30am. "
  • Trulia User
"Lots of dogs being walked.. sadly, no dog parks for them to run around. But most people have yards they can run in."
  • Corraop
"I lived and worked in the Tyson's Corner area and LOVED it! I lived in the Fountains of McLean, which was in easy walking distance to just about everything. With quick access to the metro, bus, and, (soon to be) via the metro, the airport, there really is no reason to drive (and fight that DC traffic). If you do need to drive, Tyson's is the place to be as you can get get to just about everywhere in the DC area without getting jammed on 95/495 traffic. The the extra "no commute time" I was able to enjoy all the local amenities my condo had including the pool and - due to location - Tyson's Corner shopping and restaurants. Last (but not least), the Fountains of McLean was one of those rare condos that not only allowed pets but had lots of space for the ol' doggo to get his daily walk. Finally, although I didn't have any myself, I have heard that the school system in McLean is second to none! I miss you already, Fountains of McLean!"
  • Chris
"It’s safe and upscale. Best school zone in Virginia. Tyson’s corner is just 5min drive and both DCA and IAD air ports are with in 30min drive. DC is just 20minutes away as well. "
  • Priscilafunes
"The neighbors are friendly and welcoming. Our district has exceptional schools and there are kids everywhere. The shops are close and everything is within walking distance. This area is magnificent. "
