This school is offers an extremely toxic environment because of the students. They are loud, discriminatory, aggressive, don’t listen to their teachers or their peers, and are extremely rude to each other, even for teens. I have worked here for 5 years now, and have a child who goes here. They have been harassed and sexually abused by other students since the seventh grade. They have developed trauma because of Evans and have frequent nightmares about their experiences there. Of you send your children here (I sincerely hope you make a better choice of school) prepare for them to come home stressed, anxious and never wanting to go back.

Ottumwa High School was a wonderful school for my kids! They did well in their studies and made great friends while building a multitude of memories. The teachers and staff were very supportive and wonderful!

This elementary school and the district in general are among the worst we’ve experienced in the country. There is no support or quality communication and they don’t take in account any special transportation needs for the youngest at the school in a city swarming with child predators. Their attendance policy also interferes with HIPPA laws and a parent cannot excuse their child as it must come from a doctor. The staff also remind one of mean girls in high school, and are incredibly judgmental. I would put a zero if possible. I hope the school and district do better.
